Smart Chair

A pad with 35 x 35 sensors is hidden under the padding of the chair.  When a subject sits on the chair, a signature is taken using the 35 x 35 sensors.  Also, a picture of the face is taken using a hidden camera.  The system then trains with all subjects in the database using only the chair 35 x 35 signature data.

When a subject sits on the chair on a later date, a signature is taken again and compared to the database to recognize the identity of the subject and display the associated picture.

For the purpose of people identification, both the chair and the face could be used to improve the success rate of recognition.  On the other hand, the smart chair could be used for other applications, like playing games, behavioral monitoring, etc...
